Animation! This is the vehicle you have chosen to express yourself in. a whole list of ‘tools’ are required: drawing, timing, phrasing, action, acting, pantomime, staging, imagination, observation, interpretation, logic, caricature, creativity, clarity, empathy, and so on – a mind boggling array of prerequisites.

Rest at ease. You were born with all of them. Some of them may need a little sharpening, others may need to be awakened as from a deep sleep, but they are as much a part of you as arms, legs, eyes, kidneys, hemoglobin, and speech.

……Walt Stanchfield

(Animator, Advisor and Live drawing instructor at Disney)

Difficult huhh????

But possible.

When someone has set goal, one is determined to achieve them. One has to set some rules to help him achieve the target. Well at our institute we go through these practices which are surely leading us to the doors of creative world.

Movie Sessions: it is not only about watching movies, but discussing them, developing a critical eye and understand the visual language of the film. Preparing presentations on what we have absorbed and grasp the intricacies of a movie great is all part of our learning experience

Drawing: it is all about learning the anatomy, composition, design elements of the art and much more. A daily dose of scribbling and practice will make us look at everything keenly; take our hand and creativity to great heights.

Concept Development: “the art is within you”; only thing is daily practice of taking a theme or a subject and developing it into a drawing where we fly with our imaginations.

TAKE AN IDEA AND BUILD IT

Story Development: the next step of concept development where we develop our idea and present it in form of character development, story boards, outline of story or a script and keep on improving over these aspects continuously.

BREAK THE LINK OF REALITY FROM YOUR STORY AND YOU GET AMPLE IDEAS TO DEVELOP.

Workshops: Saturdays are to go wild in the world of craft and creativity other than software and drawings. Then may it be mural making or clay modeling or wall painting or may be craft work with paper and wood.

Freedom of Expression: We are allowed to express in our own way with suggestions from faculty only if they feel are required. Personal projects like Writing essays, developing ideas, stories, and scripts will help us grow faster are encouraged and we understand it very well.

Flexibilitys: Our faculty understands the market needs very well and that is the reason we have flexible curriculum pattern upgrading it as per industry standards so as to remain ahead of the time; always.

Documentation: This is one area we strongly emphasize on since our documented work and material is like a ready reference, available, even at the middle of the night. Who knows, after 10 years I might make famous movie on these ideas.

Internet (Research and Development) :- individual research, keeping in touch with the latest happenings and information, in our field are the areas we always work on. We also interact with artists all over the world. We see this as the faster way of achieving our goals.

Problem Solving: Solving the problem in pieces will help in achieving the results faster than taking it as a whole. That is what we practice here.

Meditation: to keep us focused on our goals and charged up for your days work we see meditation as the best medicine.

Initiated Learning: "The urge to try new avenues should come from you. You take one step and we will make sure that your next ten steps are on the right path”. This is what our faculty believes in. so do we.

Detailing: is the key to take any work on different level. It will surely make it a class apart. We strive to work on detailing aspect, may it be modeling, animation or even writing this article.

Challenges: Before starting with any new assignment we try to calculate possible problems as well as their solutions. That makes us prepared for any challenge; may it be short film making, devising any craft or some difficulties when you learn the software.

Library: A good library with collection from comics to heavy duty stuff of understanding cinema and animation, and movies ranging from documentaries, art to high end animation keeps us pumping all the time to learn the subject of animation from various dimensions and developing our own style.

Walk the Talk: only words won’t help you in becoming a good artist……YOU NEED TO WALK YOUR TALK.

Live Projects: We are always creating stuff for an application in the real world- Logo design, Posters, Story Boards, Character Animation, Concept development, Short Films, whatever the size we have done it all. This Experience is just like working in any studio.

Well those are few of the methods we practice here and yes they are really awesome to work upon as well useful in shaping our capabilities.
We practice these methodologies here as well in our day to day life….. Are you ready for the same???
