In the earliest days if cinema, the wonder of moving
pictures was good enough to entertain and amaze audiences.
But it was not long before trick , was introduced. As
movies developed, these special effects grew increasingly
sophisticated to keep pace with audience expectations.
Now over a hundred years after pictures first began to
move, film studios around the world are engaged in a relentless
contest to produce ever more mind boggling effects using
latest developments in computer technology.
From the breathtaking Quidditch games in Harry Potter
to the towering ape in Peter Jackson's King Kong, not
to mention the beautifully detailed computer generated
worlds of Shrek and The Polar Express, there are now no
limits to the wonders that can be achieved on screen.
At times Visual effect is the story or has to support
the story. Sometimes it is completely invisible and perfectly
integrated elements and sometimes simply defying the reality.
Its simple science used to create art which has particular
magic element to it with certain appeal for both sides
of human brain.

From my own perspective, I like the organization and
the scope of the program you've created. It will provide
an excellent foundation for your students in preparing
them for entry into the world of production. Taking time
to explain some of the key concepts in cameras, lighting,
and compositing is smart. Incorporating a film appreciation
section early on should help students discern good quality
visual effects from not so good work and therefore help
them set their own high standards for their creative output.
